1988 Pontiac Fiero V8 Fun street car and autocrosser, seen often at Detroit Region SCCA, AROC and MSCC events in the early 2000's. 1988 Pontiac Fiero Formula with 350 small block Chevy, twisted wedge heads, Lingenfelter cam, ported TPI intake and SDS stand alone fuel injection. 18x9 rear wheels with 265/35 DOT tires. No spoiler, stickers removed, single outlet exhaust. Never could get it to handle properly and drivetrain parts started breaking often even with the mild motor, so it was parted out. 12 sec street car, quickest in class for autocross but never FTD, so basically a nice way to throw away time and money but not feel too bad about it. | ||

Engine/trans coming out or going in again! | A familiar sight, on stands, waiting for something in the drivetrain to be fixed | Granny launch at Rt 66 Dragway in Joliet, 2.0 60 ft, and still a broken axle... |
Ground Control coilovers on Koni struts, surprisingly effective | FEAD setup, car was built for AC but that was tossed quick, front block water inlets are blocked off for electric pump... | ...water goes directly into the block through -12 fittings where the freeze plugs would go, this is the rear fitting |
The front fitting for cold water in | Meziere remote elctric water pump in the bottom left corner of the pic, outlets top and bottom that feed the block | SDS stand along fuel injection system |
